3. PREMIERE : Soft Rocks - Anybody Out There

PREMIERE : Soft Rocks - Anybody Out There

The Passport To Paradise gang are in fine form as they serve up four more tripped-out disco edits for the globally-minded savant. We take sail with the excellent 'Thru Wit’ Waitin’', a beefed-up guitar chugger reminiscent of 70's AOR in its steady percussive work and misty sax solo. It’s the guitar line that really shines here, lifting the tune into funk transcendence in the bridge. 'Anybody Out There' here premiered reaches out to the disco trippers with its northern Italian cosmic kitsch feel : starry-eyed synth pads float above reverb-soaked guitar musings and playful French vocal samples. A particular highlight. On the flip, PTP take things south with a soulful West African shuffler guaranteed to elicit some arresting footwork. The EP leaves us with resounding vibrations from the Far East: ‘JP Wave’ explores ethereal planes, building up a dense rhythmic fabric punctuated by bass stabs and ornamental chimes.

WCP 039: Travis Dagz [Musicis4Lovers.com]

Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California under the harsh rule of his academics obsessed parents, Travis Dagz played with music for the same reason he played with video games… he’s a complete nerd with an affinity for escapism, electronics, and electronic music. Growing up a disciple of Drum and Bass and the Hardcore Punk genres, Travis didn’t fall in love with House and Techno until 2012 during his studying abroad program in Spain for his geology degree. After spending the weekend clubbing in Ibiza at Space and DC-10, experiencing the sounds of Carl Cox, Dubfire, and The Martinez Brothers, he became a humble student of House and Techno and a frenzied advocate of the underground scene. Ever since he’s been practicing the art of selecting and attending shows on a weekly basis. His love for the scene and tireless effort were noticed, and in late 2014 he earned his first spot as a monthly resident selector at Kitsch Bar and later at Mesa Lounge, both located in Orange County. His selections are full of unique and techy sounds, guaranteed to create an infectious vibe that keeps you smiling and moving all night long. 5. RR003 - EVIL K'NEIL - PARTY

RR003 - EVIL K'NEIL - PARTY

That man Neil Diablo from Manchester's El Diablo's Social Club is back again with another storming double header of disco delights. 'To Rack & Ruin Vol. 1', sold out in a matter of days, and we're expecting similar flying-off-the-shefness here too. 'Volume 2' sees Neil serving up a couple of obscure disco diggers finds that have been tried and tested on the dancefloor at El Diablo's, and proven to have reached club-favourite status. A-side track "Party" is one of those pop-rock disco gems you expect to turn up on an "Originals" CD compilation. Recorded by South African outfit Harari, the track features a simple mid-tempo disco groove that's layered with squelchy, efx-laden bass and clavinet gurgles. Once you hit the first big synth riffs you know you're in for a treat, and then the raw, soulful, but a bit kitsch vocals arrive and we do indeed have a party on our hands. Vocoder vocal interludes? Catchy female vocal harmony? Funky cowbell percussion? Rockin' disco rhythms? Boogie synth-bass? Patrick Cowley's 1981 anthem "Get A Little" has the lot, and then some. It's the kind of track that, when you hear it in a club, made you glad you got off the sofa and went out! A guaranteed party rockin' double A - limited as hell, and twice as hot! Now available to download from Juno http://www.junodownload.com/products/to-rack-ruin-vol-2/1893586-02/

72 Soul (feat. Pierre Citron) - En Terasse

Urban Waves Records join forces with local producer, writer and singer Peter Beda from Lazy Rebel to present this new album by 72 Soul / Pierre Citron! SOULDRIFTA is going to keep you warm for this Winter season! The album is a very authentic Belgian experience. You'll hear words in French, Dutch and English! All put together this offers a typical Brussels atmosphere. We wanted to give the world a taste of our local culture for once. So lay back, grab a beer, a pack of fries ("frittes" as we say here) and enjoy! The digital album drops now and we have this very rare and limited small "in house" vinyl edition that will be ready around February next year that you can already pre-order and secure a copy for yourself. This is guaranteed to be a collector item with a low quantity edition. "The Earth is drifting and so are we, sensitive souls and spiritual rebels, adrift yet free following our unknown destiny - voices rappin' to a heartbeat." - SOULDRIFTA @72-soul @urbanwaves All vocals & lyrics by Peter BEDA (72 Soul AKA Pierre Citron) Backing vocals by Yipoon Chiem, Suheir Abdul Rasol Beats by @freddy-bracker Recorded and mixed by Tradd at Pianofabriek CityLab Brussels Artwork by 13pulsions En terrasse En terrasse, avec un café et un verre d’eau Tu manges une glace, Instagram, Snapchatte Faut qu’on laisse des traces, serait-on lâche On s’embrasse, on se check avant le crash Pendant qu’on se fait la bise, le monde se globalise.. HHM presents...it's a VERY Kitschy X-Mas Mix Tape volume I

Whether you’re one to rope garland like ‘whoa’ while making it rain tinsel or bah-humbugging your way through the end of the year, it’s an undeniable fact that Christmas is upon us. The Mitten’s first snow has fallen, presents have been purchased, hidden, and stockpiled, and most of us have already packed on half or more of the holiday weight we’ll resolve to get rid of come New Year's Eve. Excited? We certainly are! To celebrate the season and to give our ears a break from the same old stale Yule time tunes in seemingly constant (and often painful) rotation, Hell’s Half Mile has partnered with Bay City’s lone independent record store and festival sponsor Electric Kitsch to create a Christmas playlist sure to please. Built using selections suggested by Kitsch owners Jordan and Jessica as well as committee members and friends of the festival, this compilation was mixed by M.M. Knapps over a few quarts of eggnog and one half of a one cheese log. Some of these groovin' tracks were even transferred directly from vinyl obtained fresh via the Kitsch bins, while others could only be resurrected using the magic of the internet (legally, of course). This eclectic glob of audible goodness is available for free download using the link provided. Time to put this baby on the deck and hang some mistletoe, hellions…when you serenade your Christmas crush with these delicious tracks you’re all but guaranteed to snag a kiss.
