The Batman Chronicles Volume 1 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Comics review of this collection of Batman’s earliest adventures. And that’s its major problem. But, Bill Finger and Bob Kane be forgiven, because they created the best hero in comic existence with these issues, and some cool, memorable characters and stories in the process. THE BATMAN CHRONICLES VOLUME 1 review features a possible mistake in the form of a “Doctor” where a “Professor” could be and supposedly good, understandable points that aren’t undermined by said mistake.
Batman: No Man’s Land Volume 1 review. Classic Game Room presents a review of this varied yet cohesive and consistently high-quality first collection of Gotham’s city-staggering event, an essential read for any Batman fan (A.K.A. everyone and anyone). The Golden Age Spectre Archives Volume 1 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Comics review of THE GOLDEN AGE SPECTRE ARCHIVES VOLUME 1, a nice Golden Age collection with MORE FUN COMICS #52-70, written by the legendary Jerry Siegel and penciled by Bernard Baily. Read this if you like old comics. It's pretty good in that regard. CGR Comics THE GOLDEN AGE SPECTRE ARCHIVES VOLUME 1 review features some classic art (sometimes) made weird by characters with Hitler-esque mustaches and dig/pog (dog/pig) monsters.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Volume One review. Classic Game Room presents a review of this incredible modern masterpiece written by the reclusive gentleman (who else) Alan Moore, and drawn by the extraordinary Kevin O’Neill. It’s easy to see why a movie studio would think this would make a good movie, and fans of steampunk, Victorian-era literature, and comics in general should pick this one up. THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN VOLUME ONE review features a look at the dysfunction of each member of the group, and a final touching image representing their teamwork, flawed as it may be.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Volume Two: Flashpoint review. Classic Game Room presents a review of this extremely long title, a prequel series to the Bioware video game of the same name by Dark Horse Comics. With great, varied art, and welcome additions to old clichés, this is a great standalone comic book for fans of the franchise and especially the game. STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC VOLUME TWO: FLASHPOINT review takes a look at the fantastic art of both Dustin Weaver and Brian Ching, and some of the situations writer John Jackson Miller uses to make this such an entertaining book.
The Batman Chronicles Volume 9 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Comics review of this collection of some 1943 stories written by creator Bill Finger and drawn by co-creator Bob Kane, among others. There's definitely some improvement since Batman's inception, and it's quite noticeable, despite the book's flaws. THE BATMAN CHRONICLES VOLUME 9 review features a brief look at some war propaganda and the original, much different Alfred.
