There’s not a lot out there about our next contributor - Athens resident Benjha - he let’s his music speak for him. Creating a diverse range of sounds, with references taken from pretty much everywhere. I was first introduced to his music through a number of tracks up on his soundcloud, but really took notice when I heard his mix for Moustache Music (which was probably my favourite mix of 2015). It was here I could hear his amazing ability to combine multiple genres into a beautiful and emotionally charged whole. That's not to take away anything from his production either, his output this year has been remarkable.
I spoke with him about producing a mixtape for us and am pretty damn thrilled to present the 12th Métron Musik Mixtape. As full of surprises and unexpected turns as ever, Benjha has crafted an eclectic story told across a huge array of influences and eras. Over and hour of music jam packed with great tunes, including his own productions and some traditional Greek music and all tied together as neatly as has come to be expected with Benjha’s work. This really is a mixtape for all music lovers.
There’s plenty more to come too, having just released on Nico Jaar’s 'Other People’ imprint we fully expect to see the producer continue to flourish in 2016.
Check out his works on Soundcloud and Bandcamp pages to explore his work to date.
A collection of smooth beats from the past & present, and some movie music.
I hate alarms, so I decided to make a mixtape for waking up.
This mix is my attempt to make a one-time snooze button.
Starts softly, like a hazy afterglow of a dream. You wake up and press snooze. But the alarm clock persists, pushing you from sleepy drowsiness to reality. At the end of the mix you should be completely awake: the sounds are larger, mastering is more enhanced. When the alarm is done, you should be ready to begin your day.
Smoovies is the musical 40 min snooze button. Free download so you can tell me if it works ;)
Little is known about our latest guest. What we know is that Benjha is one of the many gifted Greek artists we've discovered in the last few years. His wide interest in quality music is reflected in his countless splendid releases and in his ever surprising mixtapes. The man doesn't care about the online exposure given to him. He keeps on doing what he does best, bringing out the finest music for your ears.
Benjha is one of those promising passionate artists to keep an eye on. His hard work has been rewarded by a well deserved release on Nicolas Jaar's imprint Other People. We're sure that the best is yet to come.
Benjha, thank you so much for contributing to our Stachecast series. It means a lot to us. We're sure people will get surprised by your eclectic selection. Once again we prove that MoustacheMusic does not stand for one particular style. Quality over quantity is our device.
Hope you peepz will enjoy it as much as we did. Much love to all of you. Stream and/or download in high quality his 'Turquoise Dream' right here. Share the love if you want.
